About the Role
We are seeking an Inventory and Accounts Payable Specialist to join an import and distribution business. In this role, you will ensure stock levels are maintained, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the accurate processing of accounts, both domestic and international.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain stock levels and ensure product availability.
- Place orders with international suppliers, managing 3-9 month lead times.
- Handle shipping documents and MPI (Ministry for Primary Industries) paperwork.
- Calculate container capacity (CBM and weights) and optimise pallet configurations (Ti x Hi).
- Enter and receipt purchase orders in inventory software.
- Process bills, payments, and bank feeds, including foreign currency transactions.
- Communicate with shipping companies and international suppliers.
About You We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Proven experience in inventory management and accounts payable, preferably in imports or warehousing.
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of container logistics, including CBM and pallet configurations.
- Familiarity with handling foreign currency transactions and exchange rates.
- Experience with inventory/accounting software (Acumatica or similar is a bonus).
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
