Role of a Transport Services Driver
- Operating a vehicle: A transport services driver must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate the specific type of vehicle they are driving (e.g., a bus, truck, or van).
- Ensuring safety: One of the most important responsibilities of a transport services driver is to ensure the safety of passengers or cargo. This includes performing pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, obeying traffic laws, and being aware of potential hazards on the road.
- Following schedules: Depending on the job, a transport services driver may be responsible for following a specific schedule and ensuring that they arrive at each destination on time.
- Assisting passengers: If transporting passengers, a transport services driver may be responsible for helping passengers get on and off the vehicle, stowing luggage or other items, and ensuring that all passengers are safely seated and wearing seat belts.
