Role of a Submerged Arc Welding Operator

Some of the key duties of a Submerged Arc Welding Operator are the following.

  3. Maintaining and repairing welding equipment as required.

  6. Adjusting the welding machine settings to provide proper welding speed, voltage, amperage, and electrode feed rate.
  7. Observing the welding process to ensure proper fusion, penetration, and quality of the weld.
  8. Inspecting finished welds to ensure they meet demanded specifications and quality benchmarks.
  9. Identifying and troubleshooting issues with the welding equipment or process.
  10. Following safety procedures and wearing proper protective gear during the welding procedure

Requirements

  • High school certificate.
  • 1 year of working experience as a Submerged Arc Welding Operator.
