Job Duties of a Sales Assistant
- Greeting customers and providing them with information about products or services.
- Assisting customers with product selection and providing recommendations based on their needs.
- Processing sales transactions, including handling cash and credit card payments, and operating cash registers and other point-of-sale systems.
- Managing product displays and ensuring that shelves and displays are properly stocked and merchandised.
- Answering customer inquiries via telephone, email, or in person, and providing accurate and timely information.
- Receiving and processing deliveries, and ensuring that products are stored and displayed appropriately.
- Collaborating with other members of the sales team to meet sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.
- Performing daily store opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and security procedures.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the store, and ensuring that all products and displays are presented in a visually appealing manner.
- Participating in training programs and staying up-to-date on product knowledge and industry trends.
