Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. JOB DESCRIPTION
PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN (Full Time Regular): Fox 13-WTVT is currently seeking a talented and motivated Production Technician. The qualified candidate must have a basic understanding of television production workflow and serve as the operator of all equipment and systems related to a broadcast television studio.
Role
The primary role is to assist in the setup of production systems, and to serve as the floor director, jib operator and/or audio operator during live newscasts and special events.
- The candidate will floor direct live newscasts, and prerecorded studio events.
- Has the ability to communicate clearly with News and Production staff over the PL headset system and will anticipate the needs of the Newscast Director.
- Ensure that talent and guests’ microphones have charged batteries, are turned on properly and have corresponding IFB’s.
- Conduct proper studio microphone and live-remote audio checks prior to air and inform director immediately if any source is not suitable for air.
- Ensure on-air talent is on the set and prepared for live newscasts.
- Assists with studio lighting as related to a broadcast television studio.
- Mixes live newscast audio utilizing the Calrec Artemis and Brio audio console.
- Operates Teleprompter when applicable.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
