We are currently hiring for 1 position in Sydney.
We are seeking a Neurophysiologist with at least 1 year of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) experience. This position is based in Sydney with no travel required. You will primarily work with one spine surgeon between 1 to 4 days per week at the same hospital. While most days are long, the average schedule will be 2–3 days per week, and the schedule is known in advance — a rare benefit in this industry. Neurophysiologist Scientist job

- Confidence in communicating with surgeons and medical staff
- High level of dedication and punctuality
Position Summary:
The Surgical Neurophysiologist is responsible for real-time neurophysiological monitoring of the nervous system during surgical procedures where neural structures are at risk. The role includes preparing patients for intraoperative testing and communicating real-time data to the surgical team.
Experience Required:
- 2+ years in neuromonitoring
- Experience with neurosurgical monitoring preferred
Essential Duties:
- Provide day-to-day monitoring of surgical cases
- Implement clinical and operational policies and protocols
- Complete required case documentation within 24 hours
- Participate in weekend/evening on-call coverage as needed
- Remain current with credentialing requirements
- Travel to other regions if needed to cover cases
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
- B.S. in Biological Sciences or related discipline (Graduate degree preferred)
Skills and Abilities:
- Clinical competence in intraoperative monitoring
- Strong organisational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Comfortable working with surgical protective clothing (gowns, gloves, masks, etc.)
- Flexibility to adapt to variable schedules and occasional weekend work
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg
- Ability to stand, turn, and stoop in an operating room for 2 to 12 hours
- Precision and speed in applying electrodes to patient anatomy
Workplace Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Adhere to WHS policies and procedures
- Ensure conduct does not endanger others
Salary: $80,000–$100,000, commensurate with experience
