Job Duties of a Nail Technician

Some of the fundamental tasks of a Nail Technician are the following.

  1. Provide nail care benefits such as manicures, pedicures, and nail attachments to clients.
  2. Clean and form clients’ nails using files, scissors, and clippers.
  3. Apply nail polish, gel, or acrylics to clients’ nails and guarantee a smooth and even finish.
  4. Clear old nail polish, gel, or acrylics utilizing acetone or other solvents.
  5. Massage clients’ hands, feet, and lower legs to boost relaxation and circulation.
  6. Apply moisturizing and exfoliating remedies to clients’ skin to promote healthy nails and soft, smooth skin.
  7. Sterilize and maintain all nail care tools and equipment to ensure safety and stop the spread of infection.
  8. Educate clients about proper nail care methods and products, and recommend additional services or products as relevant.
  9. Schedule appointments and keep client logs in accordance with salon policies and procedures.
  10. Stay up-to-date with new nail care products, techniques, and trends, attend training sessions, and resume education courses as required.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience as a Nail Technician.
  • Short Course Certificate or Vocational Diploma.
  • Must have knowledge of hair styling.
