Role of a Mechanical Fitter
Some of the important duties of a Mechanical Fitter are the following.
- Assemble, install, and maintain machine tools and machinery, such as pumps, motors, conveyor systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Analyze technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to understand and pursue specifications and instructions.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical issues with equipment and machinery.
- Repair and replace damaged or defective mechanical parts, such as bearings, gears, belts, and valves.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks, such as lubricating parts, cleaning equipment, and replacing filters.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, such as wrenches, pliers, and drills, to complete mechanical tasks.
- Fabricate and alter parts using machining tools, such as lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to guarantee safe working surroundings.
- Keep accurate logs of maintenance and repairs performed on each piece of equipment, and create reports as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other supervision and production staff to provide smooth and efficient operations.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter.
- High school graduation certificate.
- Speak and understand the English Language.
