Role of an IT Security Officer

The key duties of an IT Security Officer are the following.

  • Conduct threat hunting and deliver prevention steps. Evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of operation procedures with corporate security policies and related regulations.
  • Patch managing and vulnerability management to chase vulnerabilities being exploited in the wild and following through with the fixes needed to be executed.
  • Monitoring networks and systems for security breaches or unauthorized access, and taking proper action to mitigate the danger and control further damage.
  • Creating and implementing an organization’s IT security policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best techniques.
  • Work with the groups on internal and external audits, and due diligence checks as per the MAS TRM procedures.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or relevant field.
  • CISM, CISSP, GIAC, or relevant certification would be an advantage.
  • Working understanding of application and infrastructure security resolutions.
