Role of an Information Analyst / Data Steward

Some of the important duties of this position are as follows.

  • Identifying business and regulatory requirements for data content and quality covering the needs across the value chain
  • Inventorying own Data Assets, and defining and documenting their business meaning, purpose, location, and criticality
  • Identifying, defining, aligning, mapping, and documenting at minimum Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
  • Reporting and escalating to the governance of Data Subject Areas
  • Defining the information security classification
  • Ensuring SLAs are in place with the data providers and consumers.

  • Experience working cross-functionally with departments such as Finance, IT, Legal, HR, etc.

  • Ability to interface and communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, etc.
  • Ability to perform data quality analysis, write business rules – SQL
  • Excellent command of English
