Role of a Heavy Machine Operator

The key duties of a Heavy Machine Operator are the following.

  • A heavy machine operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery, such as bulldozers, excavators, and cranes, to move materials and perform construction or pit work.

  • Heavy machine operators must also ensure that their equipment is operated safely and in compliance with all relevant regulations and safety techniques.
  • They must have a good knowledge of the terrain and conditions of the work site, as well as the capacity to interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • They must communicate effectively with other workers on the job site to coordinate tasks and ensure that work is completed efficiently and safely.
  • They must keep accurate records of their work, including hours, worked, materials moved, and supervision performed.
  • Overall, the job duties of a heavy machine operator involve using heavy machinery to perform construction, excavation, or other types of work, while ensuring safety and compliance with rules.

  • 3 years of working experience is required.
  • Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
