Job Duties of a Floor and Wall Tiler

Some of the fundamental duties of a Floor and Wall Tiler are the following.

  1. Action and mark surfaces to be tiled, using levels, chalk lines, and other gauging tools.
  2. Cut and shape tiles to fit around obstacles and create a preferred pattern or structure.
  3. Prepare surfaces for tiling by terminating old tiles, cleaning and smoothing surfaces, and repairing any damage.
  4. Mix and apply mortar or glue to secure tiles in place on walls, floors, or other surfaces.
  5. Use hand and power devices to cut, shape, and finish tiles as needed.
  6. Create and install tile borders and decorative features to enhance the overall impression of a tiled surface.
  7. Grout and seal tiles to prevent water damage and improve their durability.
  8. Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment while working with tools and chemicals.
  9. Speak with clients to ensure their satisfaction with the finished product and make any required adjustments or repairs.
  10. Maintain a clean and methodical work area and clean up after finishing a job.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 3 years of experience as a Floor and Wall Tiler.
  • High school graduate certificate.
