The company covers all aspects of fire protection including fire system design, installation, and ongoing testing and maintenance of fire protection systems.
Due to the company’s continued growth, we currently have a vacancy for a Fire Sprinkler Systems Designer/Estimator to support our project team. This is a permanent full-time position based in the Wellington Area. The salary range for this role is $85,000.00-$100,000.00 Gross per annum.
Reporting to the Fire Protection Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Pricing of tenders or variation works ensures that any commercial or technical risks are identified and discussed before the final submission
- Review all tender documentation and contracts, attend client meetings and/or briefing sessions, prepare pricing taking into account Aquaheat design approach
- Analyse subcontractor and supplier pricing for compliance
- Identify opportunities to include innovative value management options to establish a position of advantage
- If the tender is successful, complete a detailed design in accordance with New Zealand Fire Protection Standards that align with our pricing methodology
- Work with the project team to ensure all projects are planned, executed, and delivered in accordance with the pricing methodology and project timelines including procurement of materials if required.
- Complete O&M manuals
To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience in the Fire Protection sector with sound knowledge of design, pricing principles and engineering including innovation (value engineering)
- Capable of analyzing Fire Protection specifications, sketches, blueprints, and supplier & subcontractor quotations
- Knowledge of building and service regulations and statutory obligations
- Experience in client relationship/ account management
- A self-motivated team player with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise and set programs within the tendering process, ensuring the successful completion and timely submission of tender documents
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and negotiation skills
- Computer literacy
