Job Duties of an Electrician
Some of the essential duties of an Electrician are the following.
- Reading blueprints and diagrams: Electricians must be able to read and analyze blueprints and diagrams to determine the wiring structures for buildings and electrical systems.
- Installing wiring and electrical components: Electricians install wiring, conduit, circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and other electrical elements in buildings and structures.
- Testing electrical systems: After installation, electricians test the electrical systems to confirm they are functioning properly and meet safety measures.
- Repairing or replacing electrical components: When an electrical system or part malfunctions, electricians diagnose the problem and repair or replace the defective part.
- Maintaining electrical systems: Electricians perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they continue to function properly and prevent potential issues.
- Troubleshooting electrical problems: Electricians troubleshoot electrical problems to identify and fix the issue.
- Keeping up to date with safety codes: Electricians must stay up to date with safety codes and regulations to ensure that electrical systems are installed and maintained safely.
- Collaborating with other tradespeople: Electricians may work closely with other tradespeople, such as plumbers and HVAC technicians, to guarantee that all systems are properly integrated.
- Communicating with clients: Electricians may communicate with clients to understand their electrical requirements and provide advice on electrical systems.
Eligibility Criteria
- 3 years of experience is needed.
- Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate In Engineering.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
