Job Duties of a Data Engineer

Some of the essential tasks of a Data Engineer are the following.

  1. Develop and maintain data pipelines to collect, store, and process data from various sources.
  2. Design and implement data models and schema in relational or NoSQL databases.
  3. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide solutions.
  4. Optimize data storage and recovery for efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
  5. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and database performance problems.
  6. Ensure data grade and integrity throughout the data pipeline.
  7. Design and execute data security and privacy measures.
  8. Keep up-to-date with arising data technologies and best practices.
  9. Participate in the development and execution of data governance guidelines and procedures.
  10. Document data pipeline and database design, development, and maintenance procedures.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Information Technology.
  • UAE national with the family book.
  • Advanced working knowledge and experience with relational and non-relational databases.
