- $83,000.00- $90,000.00 per annum (based on experience)
About the Role
Come join our amazing team in Silverdale, Auckland.We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for the Connections Estimator position. In this role, you will carry out estimating services to support the company’s business plan and achieve Omexom’s market share of work at a planned profit margin or better.
The successful candidates will work on key responsibilities like:
- Preparing tender/quotations to customers with client schedules and supplementary information, submitting tender documents and negotiating contracts prior to award.
- Collating quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Compiling detailed requirements for tender: labour rates, project management, supervision, plant and equipment, preliminary and general, margin, preparing tags and clarifications.
- Ensuring that projects are completed within agreed timeframes and within budgeted expenditure.
- Coordinating with customers, Omexom field staff, and subcontractors to ensure project success.
- Compiling complete work packages, which include design notes, working drawings, specifications, material requirements, work instructions, resource requirements, work schedules, and all necessary approvals.
- Ensuring all documentation required by customers is completed, e.g. as-built drawings, asset records.
- Auditing works to ensure compliance with contract documents, design and construction standards, acts, regulations and network operating standards, industry standards, and safety requirements.
- Applying the industry codes of practice and ensuring they are complie with.
About you
To be considered, you should meet the following criteria:
- Current EWRB Practising Licence or similar industry experience
- Possess estimating/tendering skills, with an ability to be hands-on.
- Sound knowledge of the electrical industry with experience in commercial, industrial and high-voltage installations.
- Experience in reading, understanding and reviewing single-line drawings and control schematics.
- Knowledge of electrical regulations, industry requirements, contracting procedures and Contract Law.
- Knowledge on tendering: Fixed Price, Lump Sum, Schedule of Rates, Design and Build, Guarantee Maximum Price (GMP)
- Knowledge on different types of specifications: Design and Build, Performance Specification, Standard Specification.
- Computer Skills – Excel (spreadsheets)
