Job Description
About the role
The primary responsibilities for this role is to conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities. To identify and report damage and potential security risks. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Patrol assigned area including garages and other parking areas, checks for suspicious occurrences and enforces parking rules and regulations
- Open and close the facility, ensuring that users have left the premises. Report security and general maintenance problems to the proper authorities
- Ensure the personal safety of staff, visitors and property by enforcing procedural rules and regulations
- Maintain working knowledge of the locations of various departments, buildings, access routes and admitting requirements
- Maintain logs and records of occurrences, complete necessary paperwork, and use computer terminal to input and retrieve data where required
Desired Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience
- Certificate II in Security Operations and valid First Aid Certificate
- Valid NSW Security Licence
- Working with Children Check and RSA – or the ability to obtain
- Must have good verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with students, academics, other staff, and university visitors
- Able to work as part of a security team and contribute in a positive manner to the team’s overall performance
- Proactive in the identification of security, risk, and safety concerns, to be situationally aware, and able to resolve any issues
