Job Duties of an Auto Electrician

Some of the fundamental responsibilities of an Auto Electrician are the following.

  1. Install, analyze, and fix electrical systems and components in automobiles, trucks, and other vehicles.
  2. Use specialized equipment and tools to test and diagnose electrical issues in motorcars.
  3. Replace or repair defective parts, such as batteries, alternators, starters, and spark plugs.
  4. Install and repair wiring, fuses, relays, and further electrical components in vehicles.
  5. Inspect and maintain vehicle electrical systems, including inspecting for wear and tear and assuring proper functioning.
  6. Install and repair sound systems, alarms, and other aftermarket electronic additions.
  7. Program and reprogram electronic control modules and other automated components in vehicles.
  8. Keep up-to-date with the most delinquent automotive technology and trends in electrical systems.
  9. Communicate with customers to explain the work that requires to be done and provide estimates for repairs.
  10. Maintain a clean and methodical work area, and adhere to safety procedures and benchmarks.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as an Auto Electrician is a must.
  • Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in other or similar fields.
  • Must experience in Troubleshooting wiring, batteries, lights and etc.
  • With accessory fitting & pre-delivery experience.
